About Riyasewana
Riyasewana.com is Sri Lanka's largest online vehicle marketplace. Since 2009, people across the island have used it to buy and sell cars, motorbikes, SUVs, vans, three-wheelers, lorries and spare parts on the web and in our iPhone and Android apps. The website was redesigned for mobile and desktop in early 2026, and the apps were updated to match.

For buyers
Search that knows the market
Search by type, make, model, year, price and city. For models with enough data, results also show a price guide by year and a monthly price trend.
Saved-search alerts
In the Riyasewana app, save any search and get a notification as soon as a matching vehicle is posted.
Favourites
Save the ads you like on the website or in the app, and come back to compare them later.
Dealer showrooms
Dealers have their own showroom page on Riyasewana with every vehicle they sell. Tap "Visit Showroom" on an ad or in search results to see their full stock.
Leasing while you shop
Leasing offers for vehicles, motorbikes and three-wheelers. Send your details and a partner leasing company calls you back.
More than vehicles
Browse spare parts, bicycles and wanted ads, or request a spare part you can't find.
For sellers
Free ads
Registered (used) vehicles, spare parts and bicycles are free to post. Unregistered (reconditioned) vehicles carry a small fee. Your ad goes live as soon as your phone number is verified.
A fair price, suggested
As you enter your price, we show the range similar vehicles are listed at, so a genuine seller is never caught out by our price checks.
Bump Up
Moves your ad back to the top of the listings, once or refreshed every day for up to 14 days.
Top Ads
Pins your vehicle to the top of the search results for its model for 3, 7 or 14 days. It's the most visible spot on the site.
Showroom membership
For dealers: your own page at riyasewana.com/showroom/your-name, a showroom link on every ad and a member badge, from Rs. 1,900 a month. It never changes how ads rank.
Riyasewana Credits
A prepaid wallet: top up once, then pay for Top Ads, Bump Ups and membership in one tap on the web or in the app. Bigger top-ups earn free bonus credit.
Discounts
Your first Top Ad or Bump Up
For every account's first purchase, applied automatically on the website and in the app.

How we keep prices honest
A fake price is the oldest trick in vehicle classifieds: list a vehicle far below its value to make the phone ring, then change the story. We don't judge prices by gut feel. Every night we measure the market, and the data sets the limits.
- CollectWe take the asking price of every live ad and group the ads by make, model, vehicle type and year of manufacture. A group needs at least 8 live ads before it is priced.
- Remove outliersUsing the interquartile range (IQR), the standard statistical test for outliers, we discard any price below Q1 − 1.5 × IQR or above Q3 + 1.5 × IQR. A handful of fake prices can't drag the market price down.
- Set a reference priceFrom the prices that remain, the median and the mean are blended into one reference price.
- Set the acceptable rangeThe range comes from the same IQR fences, bounded so it is never tighter than 85%–112% of the reference price and never wider than 70%–135%.
- Check every adAn ad priced outside its range is not deleted, but its price is shown as "Negotiable", so a bait price never reaches buyers.
- Treat rare vehicles fairlyWhen a year has too few ads, we use the same model's neighbouring years (±2) and widen the range by 5 percentage points each way. A variant such as the Suzuki Alto Japan is priced from its own ads before we ever fall back to the plain Alto.
- Show sellers the rangeThe same range appears while an ad is being posted, so honest sellers see it before they publish.
The latest nightly run (12 September 2026) priced 3 models across 3 model-years, using 33 live ads.
Price trends you can trust
Public price charts only use model-years with at least 12 live ads. A change smaller than 1.5% is labelled "stable" rather than drawn as a rise or a fall, and a chart never zooms in so far that normal noise looks dramatic. These are asking prices (what sellers ask), not final sale prices.
Fighting fake and fraudulent ads
Price checks stop bait prices. Stopping the people behind them takes more, so every ad goes through several layers of checks, both automatic and by hand.
Verified phone numbers
Sellers confirm their phone number with a 6-digit code sent by SMS. An ad from an unverified number stays offline until the code is entered.
Every ad reviewed by our team
Ads go live as soon as the seller's number is verified, and our team then checks every ad by hand.
Automated risk checks
Each ad is compared with the market and with patterns from past scams: its price, its wording and the account's posting history. The riskiest ads are held for a moderator.
Rules that keep learning
When a new scam pattern appears, we add it to our detection rules as soon as we spot it. Over the past three months the rules were updated several times a week.
Contact details kept from scrapers
Sellers' phone numbers are not in the page code; they appear only when a real visitor taps to see them. Bots are rate-limited and blocked.
Report in one tap
Every ad has a Report Ad button. Accounts and phone numbers linked to fraud are blocked, and new ads from them are stopped.
Before you pay anyone
- See the vehicle in person, and check that the registration certificate (CR) matches the seller's ID and the chassis and engine numbers.
- Never pay an advance, "booking fee" or delivery charge for a vehicle you haven't seen.
- Be careful with sellers who say they are abroad, in hospital or otherwise unable to meet.
- A price far below the market range is a warning sign, not a bargain.
- Report anything suspicious with the Report Ad button, on 077 444 6565 or at info@riyasewana.com.
Leasing partners
Riyasewana works with leasing partners so buyers can arrange finance for cars, motorbikes and three-wheelers while they shop. Enter your name, phone number and city on a leasing page: your request goes straight into our partner's system, and one of their leasing agents calls you back. Sending a request is free.
