Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, commonly known as BMW, is a renowned German automobile manufacturer specializing in luxury vehicles and motorcycles. Established in 1916, BMW has grown to become one of the most influential automotive brands in the European market.
BMW's journey into the realm of electric mobility began back in 1972, marking the inception of its visionary approach to sustainable transportation. However, it wasn't until 2013 that BMW truly ignited the electric revolution with the launch of the BMW i3. Building on the success and learnings from the i3, BMW continued to push the boundaries of electric vehicle design and performance. Drawing inspiration from their iconic X series, BMW introduced the iX3, their first-ever electric SUV. This innovative model combined the versatility and ruggedness of an SUV with the efficiency and eco-friendliness of electric power, further solidifying BMW's position at the forefront of electric vehicle innovation.
Fast forward to 2021, and BMW unveiled the iX, a true testament to European styling, safety, and comfort. The BMW iX encapsulates the brand's dedication to creating vehicles that not only deliver exceptional performance but also prioritize sustainability and driver-centric design. BMW's electric venture, which began nearly five decades ago, has evolved into a revolution that continues to redefine the automotive industry. With groundbreaking models like the i3, iX3, and now the iX, BMW remains a driving force in shaping the future of electric mobility. Exterior Design
The BMW iX has a distinctive, controversial design that befits an SUV. Although it has a big face, the drag coefficient is 0.24. Hence the design not only enhances speed but also ensures an impressive range. The iX has the iconic kidney grill design. They have hung the design to the latter part of the vent. There is a blackout area in the middle of the kidney grill design. The vent of the vehicle is invisible. It is because all the sensors and the camera systems are included inside that very nicely. As the iX doesn't need vents, they have set up panels with an attractive design to keep that vent language. The absence of traditional LED lights is compensated by panels with reflectors, preserving the brand's signature look. As the BMW Company controls too much about the options, they don't permit opening the vehicle's bonnet without an authorized BMW dealer. There is a path under the badge to fill the wiper fluid.

Moving to the side profile, the iX flaunts 21-inch rims that balance aesthetics and performance. The electric series is accentuated by a mesmerizing blue look, complemented by subtle gold champagne accents, adding a touch of class. But, they have not gone overboard. It is eye-catching in the black color scheme. The latter part of the body blends with a mixture of black and gives a sporty look. The vehicle has beautiful frame-less doors. And they have given soft-closes to the iX.
The rear view of the iX is minimalistic and characterized by a steep mirror and a modest spoiler. The spoiler has not gone much overboard to save the cabin space. There are panels to keep the language with the vents. They have blended the sensors into that. There is a defuser with a cutout, apart from the vent, to enhance the aerodynamics. A blend of luxury and automation, the boot opens effortlessly, revealing a safety light and an under-luggage space, perfect for storing charging points. There is a dedicated locking mechanism for the under-luggage. There are enough tether points. The rear seats can be bent electrically to enhance the 500-liter boot space. The parcel shelf that comes originally is not soft but solid. So, it is perfect to put heavy things as it doesn't sag.

Battery and Performance
The BMW iX has a dual-motor setup that delivers a robust 326 Horsepower and an impressive torque of 630 Nm. It is a must to have a four-wheel close-drive system for the experience of an SUV. The electric vehicles give the experience the maximum torque from zero, as they don't need an rpm range to build up the torque. Regarding the battery, there are AC and DC port charging options, allowing for a full overnight (11 hours) charge or a quick 30-45 minute charge at fast-charging stations. The maximum fast charging speed of iX is 200 kWh. When the 76.6 kWh battery of the vehicle is fully charged, a maximum range of 515 km can be enjoyed, though real-world range varies based on driving habits. The raw materials cobalt and lithium used in the high-voltage battery of the BMW iX originate from responsible mining and the motor manages entirely without rare earths.

There are volume control settings, call, and voice control features on the steering wheel. The basic features that are needed for a daily driver are provided on the steering wheel with minimalism.
